Wings for Life World Run Poznań 2027 – Walk to the Start
Wings for Life World Run is the only race in the world where everyone starts at the same time — 1:00 PM local time — and a Catcher Car chases the runners. There is no finish line — you run as far as you can until the car catches you. All proceeds fund spinal cord injury research.
Poznań is the only city in Poland hosting a flagship edition. The start and fan zone are at the Poznań International Fair (MTP) on Głogowska Street. Nest Guest Rooms are on Grodziska Street — 1.8 km away, a 15-minute walk.
Why a 1 PM start is great news
Unlike marathons, Wings for Life starts in the afternoon. This means:
- A relaxed morning — no 5 AM alarm
- A proper lunch — eat at a restaurant or prepare a meal in our shared kitchen
- Leave at 12:30 — 15 minutes on foot and you're at the start with time to spare
A runner's day plan staying with us
Day before (Saturday):
- Arrive, park for free on our secured grounds
- Pick up your race pack at the MTP Expo zone — 15 min walk
- Evening in the Jeżyce district — restaurants, cafés, pre-race calm
Race day (Sunday):
- Sleep in — the race doesn't start until 1:00 PM
- Breakfast and lunch at your own pace
- Leave at 12:30 on foot along Szamarzewskiego Street to MTP
- 1:00 PM — go! The Catcher Car starts 30 minutes later
- After the race, walk back 15 minutes, shower and rest

Road closures — why location matters
On Wings for Life race day, the route runs through central Poznań. Closed streets include Głogowska, Roosevelta, Rondo Kaponiera, Święty Marcin, Grunwaldzka and Bukowska. Public transport runs on detours. Driving to MTP is virtually impossible.
From Nest, you simply walk — bypassing traffic, detours and closed zones.
