Hotel Day – What is it and how does it work in practice?

Infographic of hotel hours: check-in from 1 PM, check-out until 11 AM, traveler with luggage.Check-in from 13:00, check-out by 11:00 — these are the standard hotel times worth knowing before you arrive. At Nest Poznań we aim to be flexible — ask about early check-in or late check-out and book your stay in advance. When booking accommodation, we often encounter the term "hotel day". It sounds familiar, but many people equate it with a full 24 hours. This is a mistake! In practice, it looks quite different.

Below, we explain in simple terms exactly what a hotel day is, where its hours come from, and how it works at Nest Pokoje Gościnne.

📋 Table of Contents

What does "hotel day" mean and what does it look like here?

A hotel day is simply a specific time interval during which you have the right to use the room, and the hotel guarantees its preparation.

Every facility sets its own hours, but the rule is simple: rooms are handed over in the afternoon and returned before noon, so the staff has time to thoroughly clean them for the next guests.

At Nest Pokoje Gościnne, there is a clear schedule:

  • Check-in: from 13:00,
  • Check-out: until 11:00.

Why doesn't the hotel day last 24 hours?

A natural question arises: “If I pay for a day, why do I have to leave before noon?”

The reason is simple — the time needed to prepare the room. You are paying for your room to be perfectly clean.

Between 11:00 (check-out) and 13:00 (check-in), the staff must:

  1. Air out the rooms.
  2. Change bedding and towels for fresh ones.
  3. Thoroughly clean and disinfect the bathroom.
  4. Restock supplies (soap, paper, coffee) and check the condition of the room.

These two hours ensure that every guest can count on a high standard of cleanliness.

🔑 Check-in and Check-out – What are they?

For those who rarely stay in hotels, these terms can be confusing.

  • 🛬 Check-in: This is the moment when you officially begin your stay, receive the key, and enter the room. At our place: from 13:00.
  • 🚪 Check-out: This is the moment when you end your stay, return the key, and leave the room. At our place: until 11:00.

⚠️ Good to know: Being late for check-out may result in an additional fee, as it hinders the staff's work and delays the check-in for the next guest.

How does late Check-in work at Nest on Grodziska Street?

At Nest Guest Rooms, the reception works only until 21:00. After this hour, there is no traditional check-in desk service.

However, this does not limit our guests! Thanks to Self Check-in, you can enter the facility at any time, even in the middle of the night.

However, you must meet a key condition:

  • The reservation must be paid for before arrival. If you pay in advance (even on the day of arrival), we will send you an SMS with codes for the gate/door and instructions on how to collect the key, and check-in will happen automatically.
  • If payment has not been made, traditional check-in at the reception is possible only until 21:00.

🚀 Fast payment via BLIK

You can instantly pay for your reservation using: BLIK to phone number: +48 661 257 247

This is the fastest method to confirm your stay — ideal for arrivals after 21:00.

Once the payment is posted, we immediately send the codes and entry instructions.

Are you in Poznań early in the morning? Here are your options

It happens that guests arrive as early as 8:00–9:00, well before Check-in. What then?

  1. call us: If the room was vacant the previous night, we may be able to make it available earlier (usually not before 9:00).
  2. Leave your luggage: If the room is still being cleaned, you can leave your suitcases and go for a coffee, a walk, or to work while waiting for 13:00.

Late Check-out

Do you want to stay longer than 11:00?

This is possible — provided we are not expecting new guests in that room on the same day. Occupancy is usually high, so always ask the reception about this possibility in advance.
