Hotel Etiquette – Rules That Will Make Your Stay at Nest Easier
Staying at a hotel or guesthouse is a time of relaxation and escape from daily routines for many. However, it's worth remembering that other people are resting right next door. Hotel etiquette rules aren't meant to restrict your freedom, but to make the stay pleasant for everyone – both guests and hosts.
Here are 8 rules (and one fun fact) that will make you an exemplary guest at Nest Guest Rooms.

📋 Table of Contents
- Quiet hours
- Kitchenette etiquette
- Furniture arrangements
- Hallway etiquette
- Punctuality
- Report problems immediately
- Leave reviews
- Alcohol moderation
1. Quiet Hours Are Sacred
Our property is located in a quiet area of Jeżyce and is often chosen by hospital patients, business travelers, or students before exams. They all need their sleep.
- Rule: Between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM, we try to maintain quiet.
- In practice: If you return late at night, take off your shoes in the hallway (the clacking of heels carries far), don't slam doors, and turn down the TV. Phone conversations in the hallway at 1:00 AM aren't the best idea either.
- Our preparation: Despite best efforts, everyone has a different daily rhythm. We're prepared for any eventuality. That's why in your room, alongside welcome tea and water, you'll also find earplugs. This is part of our standard – we want to ensure that regardless of circumstances or your sleep sensitivity, you'll sleep comfortably with us.
2. Kitchenette – Tidiness Without Effort
At Nest, we provide guests with a kitchenette. We want you to feel comfortable here, so we've simplified the kitchen usage rules.
- Rule: You don't have to wash dishes, but keep things tidy.
- In practice: After a meal, don't leave dirty plates on the table or counter. Please place them in the designated dirty dishes bin. We'll handle the washing, and you'll have more time for yourself. Also remember to throw food packaging in the trash – it's a small gesture that makes life much easier for other guests.
3. Furniture Rearrangements – Return to "Factory Settings"
Sometimes guests decide to push single beds together or move a table for their own convenience. We understand – your comfort matters – but please remember this when checking out.
- Rule: If you change the furniture arrangement, restore it to its original state.
- In practice: Restoring the room to its basic layout takes you just a moment, but for our staff – it's a huge relief. Rooms are often cleaned by one person, for whom moving heavy beds back into place every day is physically demanding and takes precious time meant for keeping things clean for the next guests.
4. The Hallway Is a Shared Space (Dress Code and Doors)
We try to assign rooms close together for groups of friends or families. This is a great convenience, but remember that the hallway is still a public space, not an extension of your private room.
- Rule: We respect the privacy and comfort of other guests.
- In practice: Even if you and your companions occupy adjacent rooms, please keep doors closed. Open doors allow noise to carry throughout the entire floor, taking away privacy from other guests.
- Important: The hallway is where we all meet. Please move around in complete attire. Going out in underwear or incomplete pajamas can be embarrassing for other guests you pass on your way to the kitchen or exit.
5. Punctuality (Check-out)
Our hotel day ends at 11:00 AM. Why is this so important?
- Rule: Leave the room at the agreed time.
- In practice: At 11:00 AM (or shortly after), our cleaning staff begins their work. Every delay means they have less time to prepare the room for the next guest, who – perhaps – is tired after a long journey and dreams of a quick check-in.
6. Report Problems Immediately
Something not working? Light bulb burned out? Water pressure low?
- Rule: Contact us during your stay, not after you've left.
- In practice: We're only human and issues do occur. If you call us right away, we have a chance to respond, fix the problem, or change your room. If you only write about it after returning home – we no longer have a chance to improve your comfort.
7. Satisfied? Share the Good Vibes! (Reviews)
We've noticed a pattern: when something goes wrong, people are eager to write about it. However, when the stay is successful, the bed comfortable, and the staff friendly – we often consider it standard and... forget to mention it.
- Rule: Good comes back – appreciation is worthwhile!
- In practice: If your stay at Nest was successful, leave us a review on Google or Booking. For you, it's a minute, but for us – it's immense joy and motivation to keep working. Moreover, your positive review helps other travelers (like you!) find a tried-and-tested, safe place to stay in Poznań. Be the guest who shares not only criticism but also praise!
8. Moderation Is Key to a Successful Evening (Alcohol)
We are a place where people want to rest. Having a beer or wine in your room is no problem. The problem starts when alcohol takes control of behavior.
- Rule: Have a good time, but maintain control and dignity.
- Important: Our property, although it offers private rooms, is legally and safety-wise a place where we are responsible for the peace of all guests. If intoxication leads to aggression, noise, or damage – there is no leniency here. In extreme cases, when a guest crosses the line of good behavior or becomes a nuisance to others, we have the right to immediately terminate the room rental agreement. This means having to leave the property (even at night), no refund, and if necessary – intervention by appropriate authorities. We ensure that everyone feels safe with us.
🌟 Fun Fact: "Expert Level" Guest
Finally, a small bow to our regular visitors. We've noticed that the most aware and "battle-hardened" travelers have their little rituals that are extremely helpful for the staff, although we don't require them at all!
It often happens that such guests before departure:
- Strip the pillowcases and duvet covers (which greatly speeds up housekeeping work),
- Turn down the radiators (which shows great environmental awareness).
If you do this – know that we really appreciate it and we immediately know we're dealing with a professional traveler!
Following these few simple rules ensures that Nest remains a friendly, clean, and peaceful place. Thank you for being with us!
